Saginaw, Texas Plymouth Volare powered by a 360 Mopar. Rick runs against the 13.50 index. He is a tough competitor and won the Lone Star Shootout in 2005 and is looking forward to repeating in 2006. Always looking for a way to please the crowd and be as entertaining as he can, he brought the crowd to its feet at the BHRA Nationals at Texas Raceway after he completed his burnout by rolling down his window and held a can of starting fluid in the air and "purged"... the fans went nuts!
Houston, Texas I was born with Dissociative identity disorder.I can't decide if I like Chebbies or Mopars so I have both. One NMC car, a NSS car and one that don't fit anything. I also have an obsession with 55's but seeing they won't let me race mine in NMC with the motor home 440 in it, It is just for cruisin'. I race when I want and have a little fun doing it. BK got me back into the racing thing, it just started off with a desire to own a Hemi Car, then I stumbled onto MoparStyle and it's been up or down hill ever since, depending on which way the bi-polarism is pulling. At 40 something my racing career is just starting and hopefully doesn't end as fast as that firearms obsession. (never did get that toe sewed back on). Oh yeah...... I live south of Oklahoma and north of the Gulf Of Mexico. West of the Louisiana swamps and far enough east of Del Rio to be 10 times as humid. I like racin' and drivin' cars. In the imortal words of "Hot Rod" from the movie Stripes..... I like fast cars and fast women. One day I swear I will grow up and start taking things seriously, till then I have just handled myself as The TroubleMaker.
Richmond, Texas The drag racing bug hit me at 15, when I saw Texas Big Bird (which my dad owned at the time) race at the Monster Mopar Weekend. On the way back to Texas from the race, my dad and I struck a deal that if I’d get my grades up; and never use drugs, tobacco, of alcohol – he’d finance my racing as far as my abilities would take me. That week we bought at 72 Demon and spent the winter turning it into a 12.5 NMC car. In my first year racing with the Texas Outsiders – I won the NMC Championship. Over the winter we tore the car down and rebuilt it to be better and faster. The next year (at the tender age of 17) I again won the Texas Outsider’s NMC Championship. I love racing and plan to make the step up into NSS soon. The web site of my car is www.eldemoniorojo.com |
