![]() Jerry Ferguson "Yankee Peddler" This is the original car! |
Many years later, he discovered an old slant 6 car that someone had dropped a 440 into. It had rusty quarters, sagging springs, and a motor that vibrated so badly you could hardly see out of the windshield. Undaunted, he bought the car, brought it home, and began to fix it up. After a few anemic attempts, he decided to go all-out and make this car what he really wanted. After a 3 1/2 year restoration, with paint barely dry and a new 426 HEMI under the hood, Jerry took the car to the Indy Nationals, casually entered the car show...and WON IT! He received the MOPAR ACTION award, got a feature article in the magazine, and was the Cover Car. Even though this car was a clone, it was drop dead gorgeous! At a later car show, an individual approached Jerry and offered to buy the car. While it was not for sale, Jerry offered to trade it for what was on the other guy's trailer...an original but unrestored 1968 Hurst Hemi Dart! The deal was struck, and three years of restoration later Jerry is proud to be the owner of Bill Flynn's "YANKEE PEDDLER." The car is painted and displayed in exactly the same form as when it was raced back in the late 60's and early 70's. This car is truly a National Treasure. Jerry is a Wildlife biologist for the State of Louisiana. In addition to the Yankee Peddler, Jerry has a Nostalgia Super Stock 65 Dodge Coronet, and co-owns another 65 Coronet wagon with his brother. |
