Well, I actually started drag racing in HS. I finally figured out that going to Ga. Tech & drag racing would not let me “stay on task” so 64 was the last one until Lamoine conned me into going to one of Jerry Kelley’s “Musclecar Nationals”events in 91.....said he’d “let me make a couple of passes”. That was it! The next week I drug out this ole hogmotor that I’d had since 68 & bought 2 old junk 64 Biscaynes. I ran the stock motor until I met Donnie Shaffer’s brother. Tony did the top of this engine & Joe Abene here in Tampa did the machine work on the block & I put it together (probably why it’s slow). It’s still just .060 over stock 409. I’m in the A/C parts & repair business (vehicles-like Lamoine was)-mostly class 8 trucks & off-hwy equipment. We have a pretty large parts business. I’ve been married to the same lady (Judy) long enough to have 5 daughters (yeah-FIVE!). |
